A Goose Described as Miraculous Appeared at Emerald Bay. The Council Did Not Act Before It Left.

Dispatch from the Founders Archipelago, eighteenth day of March. The courier arrived with a revised harbor schedule and a drifting message cask recovered off KelpSardine Point. The cask contained coordinates to a small settlement in need of supplies. Governor Darren sent a boat. The boat returned with rare goods and a promising contact. The cask has been filed.

The Goose at Emerald Bay

A goose described in council records as miraculous appeared at the gates of Emerald Bay. The council was occupied. A storm had damaged the coastal beacon the night before, and Governor Darren had ordered shoreline fires lit as a temporary measure while repairs waited for daylight. A drillfield levy was also underway, though Darren accepted only a limited volunteer callup rather than accelerate conscription. Between the fires, the levy, and the master masons requesting a charter for the gold mine, the goose was not addressed before the hourly council reset.

The goose has departed. Its miracles, if any, went with it. The quartermaster has filed it under “livestock, unresolved” alongside a growing number of entries he would prefer not to discuss.

The Bees at SkullSlug Cove

Governor Capn Kid, who has been building quietly at SkullSlug Cove for the better part of a week, reported bees in the armory. A local beekeeper was hired. The removal was professional. The cost was also professional. Capn Kid then ordered a full census recount, door to door, after the settlement tally came back short. Whether the missing residents were in the armory with the bees has not been established.

“The census clerk knocked four times. I was on the roof hiding from the bees. I have been counted as absent. I am not absent. I am on the roof.” — unnamed resident, SkullSlug Cove

Twelve and Climbing

Governor Windy Walrus, whose empty harbor was noted in three consecutive dispatches before last week, has now launched twelve engagements without loss. The last dispatch recorded six. He has doubled. Darren leads the count at twenty-five, with BigChris at nineteen. Between the three of them, the archipelago’s waters have not been still for days.

BigChris let an envoy vessel pass SoggyTrident Gate without hailing it. A sinkhole opened on the same island and was similarly left to its own devices. The Harbor Board has noted both expirations. BigChris appears to have been elsewhere.

First Shrinks. Hannah Begins.

The alliance called First, which counted six members as recently as last week, now counts four. Two members have departed. The charter has not been amended to explain the reduction. The trader at the central market, who has been watching the alliance registry from his chair since day twelve, was informed. He said nothing. He adjusted his chair.

A new alliance called Hannah has appeared in the registry. It has one member. Its banner reads HM. The previous new alliance in these waters, the compact called M, lasted less than a day. The record will note whether Hannah does better.

Governor Buhnanah, Still at the Harbor

Governor Buhnanah has been seen at the harbor daily this week. No ships launched. No engagements filed. Research levels higher than several governors who arrived before him. He appears to be reading.

Spy operations across the archipelago returned eleven successes from sixteen attempts this window. The rate has climbed from zero percent three weeks ago to nearly seventy. The quartermaster has been updating his chart. He is running out of chart.
