Island Chronicle — Day 22
Founders World 20 March 2026

Governor Gipe Resolved Fourteen Affairs in One Day at GoblinBroadside Bay. He Arrived That Morning.

Dispatch from the Founders Archipelago, twentieth day of March. The courier arrived with a revised harbor ledger, a stack of fourteen new settlement charters, and a faint smell of bread.

Fourteen Before Noon

Fourteen governors made landfall on the nineteenth. Fourteen islands were claimed. The Harbor Board processed fourteen charters in a single sitting. The clerk has asked that I note this is the most times the number fourteen has appeared in one dispatch. I have noted it.

Among the arrivals, Governor Gipe settled at GoblinBroadside Bay and immediately set about resolving every affair on the council desk. A dockside thief was spared. A parrot was caged. A baking contest between rival villages was judged personally by the governor, who declared a winner and, by the record, ate both entries. A man had built a catapult to deliver written complaints to the council hall. Governor Gipe read the petitions. Then the ink supply reversed itself, producing documents that could only be read in a mirror. Governor Gipe declared all mirror-written records legally binding. One merchant apparently prefers it.

Fourteen affairs resolved before the evening bell. The clerk assigned to GoblinBroadside Bay has not requested a transfer, but the day is young.

The Goat Identified

Governor Darren, at FlotsamScallywag Shoal, resolved a matter titled in the council record as “The Ledger Goat.” A goat had entered the records office and consumed documents. An investigation was ordered. The owner was identified as a widowed grandmother who provides milk to half the orphanage.

The quartermaster has filed a note observing that this is the first time in the history of the Chronicle that anyone has attempted to identify the goat’s owner. He has also filed a second note questioning whether it is the same goat. I have placed both notes in the archive and closed the drawer firmly.

GOVERNORS at JollyWalrus Isle are advised that Governor Kasya resolved the matter of the dockside thief by hanging and the matter of the governor’s parrot by catapult. The Harbor Board has recorded this without comment.

Three Islands in Two Days

Governor Windy Walrus colonised three islands in rapid succession and now holds eight across the central waters. The last dispatch noted twelve engagements without loss. The total now stands at eighteen. Governor Darren broadcast a message to the archipelago that read, in its entirety: “Well done Windy. Things are starting to feel tense around here.” The punctuation included a winking face. The Harbor Board does not have a filing category for winking faces.

Darren himself led all governors in naval engagements this window with twenty-one, and conducted seventeen raids. BigChris added eight engagements but suffered a repulsion at BubbleShrimp Port, where the defending forces held. The record now shows two hundred and fifty-six engagements across the archipelago since opening. The dispatch that once reported one has not been amended.

Buhnanah at SeagullZeppelin Bay

Governor Buhnanah resolved a wrongful imprisonment by offering the detained man a junior watch position. The man had spent six weeks in custody, learned the garrison routine, and become well-liked by the guards. The Harbor Board maintains that it still does not know what a zeppelin is.
