That is the number of troops Governor BigChris committed to the waters around FlotsamScallywag Shoal and AnchorDeck Ridge this week. Six engagements against Governor Darren’s holdings. The first wave, two hundred and sixty-one men from SoggyTrident Gate, was destroyed entirely. The garrison at FlotsamScallywag Shoal held. BigChris sent heavier columns from three harbors. AnchorDeck Ridge was razed twice in under two hours. FlotsamScallywag Shoal fell on the third attempt. Both settlements were reduced to their main houses.
Darren has since colonised a new island to the south. He has not commented on the ones he lost. BigChris now holds twenty-one islands. Four hundred and thirty-nine of his men did not come home.
The Island That Will Not Be Settled
Governor Windy Walrus now holds twenty islands and seventy-eight engagements without defeat. What the record does not convey is the situation at Medium Island (4:1:3), which has been attacked at least eight times this window. Each time the colonisation ship returned intact. Each time the fates, as the reports consistently phrase it, did not favour the colonists. Windy Walrus has sent another fleet. I expect the same letter tomorrow.

Billy No-Crew Has a Crew
Governor Billy No-Crew, last seen losing supplies to a rogue wave at SkullPistol Spire, has conquered his first island and raided SnorkelBoots Bay four times. Governor Benny, who once served barnacles to a visiting ambassador at that settlement, has not been seen at the harbor in some time. The barnacles remain undefended.
Other Business
Eighteen new governors claimed islands this window, bringing the total to forty-three. Governor Mushmellow founded the alliance Fairytale at ClamPistol Port. It has one member. Hannah has grown to four. First holds at six.
Governor Pineapple Express at CorsairPickle Shore resolved a fishing border clash by demanding tribute, which intensified the dispute, and then dealt with a diplomatic pouch that Jenkins had delivered to the wrong settlement. The pouch contained unofficial fishing quota opinions. Pineapple Express denied all knowledge. Jenkins has not been disciplined.
Spy operations returned thirty-one successes from thirty-eight attempts. The rate three weeks ago was zero. The quartermaster’s chart now extends onto a second sheet.
