Your island sits in the water, plunder reports name the fix, and routes mind themselves
A quality of life pass across the daily game: the island you look at every session, the reports you read, and the chores in between.
Trade routes
Automated routes no longer tie up your merchant ships between runs. Each sailing takes what is docked, so more ships or a fuller store means a bigger run. Cargo can be set as amounts or as a percentage split of each run’s hold, routes can carry goods, and you can hold, amend or retire a route at any time, even with a convoy at sea.
Getting robbed
Being plundered used to be a dead end. Now you are told the moment it lands, and the report names what your island was missing and puts the patrol first, because ships on the water are what turns a raider back. An island robbed again and again with nothing patrolling it shows “A Shore Worth Robbing” until you send one.
Underneath, a settled harbour remembers raids for three days, so the same Governor pays less each time. And your storehouse now shields enough to bank your next building at home. Raiders still always find a tenth.
The Black Tide
The Tide has been rebuilt over these past weeks, and most of that is already at sea. It keeps no calendar now. It answers what you do: strike it and it answers in proportion, raise a shrine and the sea takes a shore nearby. Its counter-attacks carry no siege engines, so a reply costs you ships and soldiers, never buildings.
New today, it stops raiding while you sleep, returns to the same harbour far less often, and steers clear of any island you keep a patrol over. It also hunts blackened idols in earnest. A raid sails with thirty warships, three a tick at most and one per owner every four hours, biggest hoard first. Set a patrol if you mean to keep your idols.
