Founders World Day 218 Saturday, 3 October 2026
Turtle Blues Pulls Down Five Nordreich Banners
A tide courier came in at first light with a board of nailed cloth scraps, a damp sheaf of battle tallies, and a clerk insisting the goat was part of the chain of custody.
The week, as it fits on paper
Founders World has spent the last span doing what it does best in a naval strategy and conquest of this size, taking the sea seriously and taking everyone else at their word, until the word becomes a number.
The Black Tide remains present and mute, which continues to simplify the correspondence file. It does not simplify the casualty columns.
Windy Walrus, by the itemized count
The thickest packet of victories bears Windy Walrus’s seal. In the battles we have in hand this week, thirteen separate strikes against The Black Tide are written out cleanly enough for a clerk to trust them.
From 00 Warehouse C, the run cuts into Fernwave Point, Oakthicket Shore, Ferndell Nook, Shellpoint Bay, Otterfield Sound, and Seafield Isle, then on to PowderZinger Haven, Bluescar Cay, Brinedell Haven, and BilgeParrot Cove. The repeated note in the margin is not poetry but carpentry, main houses stepping down from 16 to 11, or from 18 to 13, as each shore is persuaded to remember its place. The sea is a patient instructor. The ink is less so.
The later set of slips moves from 00 Warehouse A to Fogfield Anchorage, Ravencliff Cay, and Heronmoor Point, and the same reductions appear again with the stubborn regularity of a toll. Two of those returns also list 648 lumen alongside the more ordinary cargo, and the quartermaster has begun treating that number as if it were a coin weight, rather than an accident. He is probably right. I am not pleased.
This follows last week’s blackened idol and the first lumen column in the margin. That column has now acquired its own page, which is how mysteries become routine.
Flowkap keeps the old habit
Flowkap has continued to write his war in corrections rather than speeches. Copperthicket Head was struck repeatedly, enough to lower its main house from 13 to 8 across the week’s records.
It is not the loudest work in the archipelago, but it is the kind that can be filed without guesswork. Clerks prefer wars that can be filed.
Miko Misan, punctual and unromantic
Miko Misan remains the tide’s most punctual visitor. The week’s papers still carry his heaviest single raid at Black Tide Capstan, 825,433 gold with immense loads of lumber and stone, and every man counted back onto the pier.
Black Tide Bane and Black Tide Sandbar appear as further returns in the same hand, and Black Tide Claw remains the lone line that insists on calling its outcome “unknown” despite a full count. The sea has many habits. So does shame.
RattleHook Port also forwarded an administrative note titled “The Stew of Remarkable Properties”, approved for labor crews on the principle that boundless energy is a resource like any other. The cook has asked whether the same ration may be issued to oarsmen. We are leaving the request on my desk until it cools.
Hannah and Nordreich, in cloth and nails
Not every dispute this week was with The Black Tide. The newest board of cloth scraps is, regrettably, domestic.
Governor Turtle Blues of Hannah is recorded tearing down Nordreich’s banner at Bosun’s Spur, Weaver’s Spur, Stubborn Stack, Cormorant Reef, and Stubborn Spur. Five separate removals now sit in the ledger, each one a clean act with a dull aftermath.
No council was called for any of it. The cloth came down anyway. The nails were left in place, which is the sort of compromise only a hammer enjoys.
Dindi keeps the lanes loud
While the larger names carve main houses and arguments, Dindi continues to make the raid ledger look crowded. The most recent returns include plunder taken from K21 Concerned Walrus, K18 Yellow Walrus, and K17 Apprehensive Walrus, plus raids at Oakhollow Roost and Silvervale Roost.
SunkenLass Ridge also reports the matter titled “The Ledger Goat”, with scribes rebuilding accounts from receipts, merchant records, and whatever the animal chose not to chew. The quartermaster has requested a category for livestock that interferes with documentation. I have noted the request and moved it farther from the pantry.
New charters, and a name I cannot place
Even in a week of pressure, colonization keeps slipping through the gaps. Echostatic raised a new charter at Rowanwatch Nook, and Noob Nation claimed GrumpySardine Isle.
Windy Walrus also claimed Palethicket Reach, and a shore recorded as New Zealand. I do not know what a zealand is, new or otherwise. It appears to be claimable, which will do.
Treehugger made his presence felt by raiding RaiderChart Gate, a place that has drawn more attention than a market deserves. Wilhelm1908 and Vinzent Zeppelin remain active by the count of their lines on the water, which is as close as some governors ever come to a signature.
Ninety-six new governors have made landfall across the week, including Bam, EdMaChBo, and Georgelu in the latest wave. The harbor orientation is now delivered twice daily, and the goat has begun attending as if it were a civic duty.
Closing note from the tired desk
Taken together, the week reads plainly enough, sustained pressure on The Black Tide, mid-sized tempers taken out on banners, and new shores claimed wherever the sea allows a pen to settle.
The quartermaster has proposed a locked cabinet for unusual items and papers. This proposal is now also locked, for its own protection.
